Backyard Gravel Camp 2026: A Gravel Weekend Full of Adventure
From September 18–20, 2026, the Backyard Gravel Camp brings the authentic gravel spirit to the Rosental region in Carinthia, turning Rosegg into a meeting point for riders from all directions. This event is not a race, but a shared weekend experience on the gravel bike – featuring challenging routes, a relaxed camping atmosphere, and strong community vibes right in the heart of nature.
A Gravel Experience for Every Rider
Backyard Gravel offers a selection of demanding routes (approx. 200–325 km with 3,500–7,500 m of elevation gain) across beautiful, carefully explored tracks through the Rosental valley. Optional shortcuts allow riders to adapt the route to their own fitness level and schedule. You’re not riding against the clock – instead, you set your own pace and goals, embracing the true spirit of the gravel community and the joy of exploration.
Camp Atmosphere & Community
The central meeting point is the cozy Cake Camp in Rosegg, idyllically located in the forest between Velden and Villach. Stay overnight in your tent or van, or reserve a bed in a shared room. Fresh, homemade food, cold drinks, and of course delicious cake stops along the route are all part of the experience – as are spontaneous encounters and conversations with like-minded riders.
Adventure, Gravel & Connection
Backyard Gravel Camp represents what gravel riding is truly about: adventure, community, and fun both on and off the beaten path. Whether you want to take on the longer challenge or prefer a more relaxed ride with friends, this weekend offers inspiration, movement, and unforgettable moments in one of the most beautiful gravel regions of Carinthia.
