Competitions

The Wörthersee Gravel Race, which takes place on April 7th, is part of the 2024 TREK UCI Gravel World Series calendar and a qualifying race for the 2024 UCI Gravel World Championships. In addition to the competition for professionals and ambitious gravel bikers, recreational off-road bikers can also collect a certificate and medal.

The Course

Johnny Hoogerland, current Gravel and Gran Fondo World champion, designed the Wörthersee Gravel Race course in his home territory. In collaboration with Paco Wrolich, former Tour de France participant and bike coordinator in Carinthia, a course was developed that is not only a sporting highlight but also a tribute to the beauty of Lake Wörthersee and their passion for gravel biking.

Gralf – the legend

In the deep forests around Lake Wörthersee lived a mischievous creature known as the “Wörtherseemandl Gralf”. This cheeky little fellow threatened the people in the area with capricious pranks unless they paid him tribute. But the brave inhabitants of the region refused to be intimidated and decided to stand up to the Wörtherseemandl.
